K9 Swim Hydrotherapy Centre is a unique, modern purposely built complex specifically designed for dogs for Rehabilitation, Fitness and Fun. The only one of its kind in NSW. The Hydrotherapy Centre has an indoor heated pool along with an underwater treadmill and provides services from fun or conditioning swims to rehabilitation.

Our hydrotherapy centre also runs learn to swim classes for puppies, Weight Loss programs, Senior Dog programs and individual learn to swim sessions for pups and dogs. We are also a referral centre for Vets to send their clients for rehabilitation after surgery , illness or injury.

Keeping your dog in peak physical condition is the key to health and long term well being. Hydrotherapy has wonderful rehabilitating effects. Its non weight bearing and assists in strengthening muscles and improves overall fitness, keeping your dog in great shape. Dogs don’t have to have a medical condition to swim. Its a great exercise as well as lots of fun!

At K9 SWiM your dog is our priority. We take the time to get to know your dog and aim to achieve optimum physical well-being for them. K9 SWiM can teach your dog to swim, increase their fitness, improve health, reduce weight, and help their body repair after surgery or injury. There is a program to suit your dog no matter what size or age.

Sharon Osmond  - founder and owner of K9 Swim

Hi I'm Sharon seen here with two of my best friends Curzon and Annie.

I founded K9 SWiM in 2013 when one of my dogs, Curzon, developed Arthritis. I knew the best thing for Curzon was to swim in warm water and realised that there was such a need for it, not only for Curzon but for all dogs out there suffering similar conditions.

My long history with dogs started when I was a young girl growing up in Orange, NSW. I have also bred Weimaraners for over 12 years at my rural property in the Lower Hunter Valley of NSW and have seen great results with my own dogs that have been swimming regularly. I am passionate about hydrotherapy and physical therapies for animals..

I am an Animal Naturopath and Muscle therapist for animals and have used it extensively on my own horses, dogs and cats with outstanding results. I now extend that to our clients that come into K9 SWiM.

In 2014 I was awarded a scholarship with the Veterinary Nurses Council of Australia’s 2014 Professional Development Program and went to study in the UK at Greyfriars Veterinary Rehabilitation and Hydrotherapy Referral Centre. This allowed me to further my skills and knowledge in rehabilitation in hydrotherapy.

Now let me tell you about my wonderful team here at K9 SWiM.

Czarina Manahan

Czarina Manahan

In 2009, she completed her Bachelor Degree in Science, majoring in Biology, with a particular focus on Animal Behaviour and Conservation.

In 2014, Czarina decided she wanted to work with companion animals, so undertook Certificate II in Animal Studies, which she completed in 2015. Then, in 2017 she studied and graduated from Certificate IV in Companion Animal Services. Czarina, is now working towards becoming a Veterinary Nurse.

Czarina is also a Kennel Assistant at her local shelter, and volunteers at Struggletown Veterinary Hospital as well as Sydney Dogs and Cats Home. She loves working with Companion animals, especially dogs.

She successfully completed her Certificate III In Animal Studies and is currently studying Vet Nursing whilst working here at K9 SWiM.

Megan says she loves working here at K9 SWiM working with the team and meeting so many great clients and seeing the benefits of Hydrotherapy for so many dogs.

Sinead O'Farrell

Sinead O'Farrell

Sinead has been an avid animal lover her entire life and is the proud owner of a Dachshund x Cavalier named Twiggy. She knew from a young age that she wanted to work with dogs and this passion has driven her to complete the Certificate II in Companion Animals.

She says “I love working as part of the K9 Swim team and being able to meet all of the caring clients and their amazingly strong dogs.”

Jenny Maude

Jenny Maude

Jenny has a love, and respect for all animals. She has grown up with many animals being a cherished part of the family and has been a volunteer with WIRES since 2007.

Annie - Sharon's shadow at K9 SWiM

Annie is the daughter of Curzon and she is now 11.. She has been a very fit and healthy dog and at first did not like swimming but now enjoys it. Annie was diagnosed with Lymphoma at the age of 7.  She had chemotherapy along with a diet change and is doing well.  She has regular check ups at Sash;s Oncology unit. Along with Natural Therapies and supplements Annie swims or water treadmills once a week to keep her muscles toned and the warm water and the mental stimulation is very good for her well being without taking too much out of her. Annie loves hanging out at the pool but you will normally always find her close by to Sharon.

In loving memory of
Chardy - Supervisor of K9 SWiM

Chardy was a Jack Russell X Kelpie. When she was a young pup a horse damaged her hip so she had a femoral head excision (where the head of the joint is removed) . She bounced back very well after surgery. Chardy was an exceptional soccer player and had her own rules but was very entertaining to watch! She loved going to the pool and felt that she was the supervisor so if given the chance would walk around the pool whilst dogs were swimming to make sure they were swimming correctly! Chardy was the noisy one if shut out of the pool area . Chardy kept herself fit by soccer and swimming. Sadly Chardy left this world in September 2019 at the magnificent age of 17 and a half years.

In loving memory of
Curzon - Matriarch of K9 SWiM

Curzon was the matriarch of K9 Swim and sadly passed away of old age on Christmas Day 2016. She was 14 years old.
You would often see her in the office or hanging out by the pool! Curzon loved her swims twice a week and going for rides in the car, walks and most of all food! She had a cheeky personality and was a very laid back girl! Many K9 Swimmers knew her well and her memories live on with us here at K9 SWiM.
Curzon was Sharon's inspiration for starting K9SWiM, when Curzon was diagnosed with hip dysplasia and arthritis Sharon needed a heated pool to swim her in and Sharon knew that Hydrotherapy along with Natural Therapies would be beneficial for Curzon and many other dogs in the same situation. K9 SWiM improved Curzon’s quality of life greatly.
